Although Fall and spring are great times to fish the San Juan River, beat the crowds of people and experience premier fishing in January, February, and March. Not only are these months some of the year’s best for fishing, you won’t have to fight the masses for a spot on the river.

Beautiful Vallecito Lake is a mere 22 miles from Durango and is full of gorgeous rainbow, brown trout, and northern pike. Take this short drive and enjoy the breathtaking Colorado scenery.
